District heating is a fantastic way to heat houses, industries, and premises, and gives us the opportunity to provide warmth to our customers in a sustainable and efficient way. Something we always strive to achieve, in everything that we do.

Värmevärden is an energy company who delivers sustainable district heating to customers such as municipalities, industry companies, and small house customers.

District heating is the most common heating method in Sweden. More than half of all homes and premises are today heated by district heating. Among multi-family houses, the proportion is about 90 percent. In many of our district heating networks we have a close cooperation together with the local industry. In that way we can use residual heat from the industry to heat houses and premises. When we use heat that would otherwise have been lost, we save the planet’s resources.

We have a long-term focus and believe in strong cooperation’s

Värmevärden as a company was created in 2010, but our operations have extensive experience of district heating, from the mid-1960s onwards. Today we are located in twelve municipalities in Central Sweden and in total we have about 100 employees – all committed to a safe and reliable delivery to our customers. In four of these twelve municipalities (Hofors, Leksand, Kristinehamn and Rättvik), district heating is owned together with the municipality – a strong and rewarding cooperation.

The company is owned by an open-ended infrastructure fund which manages Swedish, Nordic and international pension capital. The Fund and its investments have no end date, but rather seek investment opportunities which require long-term capital. In the autumn of 2020, the Fund bought the energy company Adven and the two companies are currently merging to become the new leading group in its field.

Adven/Värmevärden is a new energy group whose common journey towards becoming a leading actor within sustainable energy solutions started in 2020. Together our 520 employees supply sustainable district heating and geoenergy to several real estate types as well as steam, heating, cooling, and related infrastructure solutions to industries. With more than 50 years of experience within the energy sector the group today operates 350 sites in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
